  1. Marlene-- South Africa says:

I bought my first Russian Red Army Ensemble LP record in the early ‘sixties-- ordered it from the RCA Record Club and still have it, as from the beginning it was a treasured possession …

Around the world people from all walks of life were unbearably shocked and saddened by the great loss suffered to the Alexandrov Ensemble and the Russian Federation.

Cynthia Campbell’s heart rending comment above spoke on behalf of us all and I can only add that the spirits of the many who perished, remain ever with their musical comrades in arms-- for the Alexandrov Red Army Choir reflects the unequalled spirit so unique to the Russian soul and it always will … The world is truly blessed to listen to and enjoy a choir which remains unmatched anywhere on the planet!

Rest In Peace dear ones who left this world-- your souls took flight-- but your beautiful voices remain forever with us, drift onto the garden terrace where I work and borne on the breeze, echo through the valleys below and bouncing against the highest grey crags, gently flows back to me.

For the many who lost their beloved ones so tragically and unexpectedly — Be at peace! — They’re not far away, closer than you’ll ever know and while you can’t see them now-- you will and be united with them again.

Russia does so much to create a better world for all and does it so quietly-- few ever get to know about it. Thank you to the most special nation in the world, for all you do! You are shining your light on all fronts, in places where only darkness has been for far to long ..

May God Bless Russia and her people always!

  3. Cynthia Campbell, Sacramento, CA, USA says:

I greet you in your grief and sadness, a grief that I also share.

Your spirit and that of your fallen friends touched my soul.

In pain, no doubt you ask yourself, ‘Why?’ and then even more troubling, ‘Why do I survive?’

At those times, when no answer comes to mind,

    I ask you to contemplate

That you do not continue on alone.

That you play, you sing and you dance in the embrace of your hallowed friends, and that they

    Join in to say…

Worry no more. We are near. As the breeze whispers by your face, we are with you, as close as your next breath, and as far as the edge of the universe. Like a father impatiently waiting for his first child to be born, we watch over your pains and labors, and wait for your next song. When we reach out to you in a dance and pass by -- hardly touching -- or when we join you in a distant harmonic -- almost inaudible -- we say, worry not. Be at peace.

Last night I closed my eyes and saw the earth. A great light shone out from the earth to the heavens above. The light was the shape of all of Russia and it brightened the world.

Your friends created so much happiness in this world. They will be sorely lost. Please accept my condolences.
